Interior Wall Thermal Insulation Material- Help You Have Warm Winter

Rating: 1 votes, 1.00 average.
With the coming of winter, the temperature decrease gradually, people start to wear more clothes for thermal insulation. In fact, our house also needs to have thermal insulation measure. Wall thermal insulation is an important part for house heat preservation. It is divided into exterior wall thermal insulation and interior wall thermal insulation. The workload of interior wall thermal insulation is smaller than exterior wall. Today I will introduce interior wall thermal insulation material - polystyrene foam board.

Polystyrene foam board is one of the common interior wall thermal insulation materials. It is also called foam board, EPS board. Polystyrene foam board is white object foaming by heating the pre-foaming Expandable Polystyrene containing volatile liquid foaming agent in mould. The closed pore in it makes it popular choice for the thermal insulation material for building wall, roof and composite board etc. Polystyrene foam board is divided into expanded polystyrene board and extruded polystyrene board.

Merits of polystyrene foam board

1. Polystyrene foam board has small density coefficient, good anti-shock performance. It can buffer the exterior impact force by changing and recover its shape.

2. Independent bubble structures make it recover from small area damage quickly.

3. Low water absorption and good penetrating quality make it avoid the troublesome of mouldy and peeling off.

4. Do not affect by temperature. Polystyrene foam board will not melt for high temperature and have embrittlement phenomenon for low temperature.

5. Polystyrene foam board is recyclable material. It has the highest recycle use rate among plastic.

6. Do not use Freon during its manufacturing process.

7. Have the lowest energy consumption during its life cycle.

Defects of polystyrene foam board

1. The construction process of polystyrene foam board is complicate and the construction time is long.

2. Inflammable. There is toxic gas after burn. Common polystyrene foam board has poor anti-flaming performance. The smoke produced by polystyrene foam board burning is toxic. The anti-flaming performance only have B level after adding fire retardant.

3. Poor strength. It is easy to crack and peeling off.

4. The poor strength of polystyrene foam board determines that it has poor load bearing performance. It needs to have strengthening treatment.

5. The quality of polystyrene foam board is unstable. It needs to be placed for a period before selling on market. If the board is not cured totally, the quality of it cannot get guarantee, which will lead to contraction and crack.
