Over the years, John-Richard designers have traveled the globe to create and interpret our own collection of European 17th, 18th and 19th Century style furniture. Our designers have been inspired by flamboyant Italian and Spanish styles, ornate and delicate French designs, refined German and Dutch creations, and graceful English and Irish originals. The John-Richard Furniture collection includes a vast selection of chests, cabinets, desks, consoles, tables, and accessory pieces that leave a lasting impression of unsurpassed quality, luxury and style. Our upholstered collection includes an array of occasional and dining room chairs, settees, ottomans, and an impressive selection of leather upholstered furniture. Each piece of our collection is designed and researched before being expertly hand-crafted by our artisans. Our craftsmen use an array of decorative techniques including antique finishes, ebonizing, inlaid leather, gilt tooling and eglomise. Eglomise has been selected in many of the items and is the art of decorating glass with silver and gold leaf. Developed many centuries ago, possibly in Ancient Greece, it was revived in the 18th Century and become popular amongst cabinet makers in Paris and London.
