Laverne Graber was born and raised in a "Horse and Buggy" Amish family in rural Indiana. He was brought up being taught the value of quality craftsmanship and good work ethics.

Not long after Laverne and his wife Rosie began a family they started to notice some abnormalities in the physical abilities of some of their children. It was soon diagnosed as Muscular Dystrophy, a genetic disorder that had a higher than average occurrence rate among the local amish population. Laverne, who at the time was in the construction business then began to contemplate a career switch away from carpentry to something that would provide employment opportunities for his disabled children, of whom would end up totaling five of their eight children.

So in 1992 They the family opened their first retail outlet selling Amish made products like jams and jellies to the public. Several retail outlets including Amish restaurants, craft shops, furniture stores and cabinet retail, soon followed. It has been over 17 years since that first retail establishment and now the second generation has joined the team

Kevin Graber is currently managing the Online Furniture division along with the Custom Cabinet division of the business. Recent years have brought with them technical advances such as computer aided kitchen design software and internet showrooms. Combine those advances with timeless value of dedicated Amish furniture and cabinet craftsmen and you get a wonderful combination style, beauty, and quality in every piece that we offer.
