Some older buildings, and some not-so-old, have valuable floor space but are unsuitable for modern interactivity; small offices and narrow corridors are not the best business environment, despite the expression ‘corridors of power.’ The obvious solution is to start again, utilising the floor area to its best advantage by pulling down dividing walls and planning a more work-effective layout.

An Office interior fit out is just what such a situation requires because it effectively starts with a clean sheet of paper and adapts the floor area to the actual requirements of the business.

The advantage of contracting a single company that can offer everything from demolition to rebuild, interior design and furniture supply is that the project becomes the responsibility of a single entity that can coordinate every part of the job using in-house staff.

The initial task, once the decision is made to accept a quotation for Office interior fit out, is to prepare a report in conjunction with the client upon the daily functioning of the business. The intention is to create an environment where staff members who interact throughout the day have easy access to each other. Whether that is an open-plan office using partitioning or a slightly more formal arrangement is a matter of client choice, but whatever is decided can be implemented by the Group going to the next stage.

That can, at times, be extensive demolition and rebuild from floor to ceiling. A timetable is part of the project, and contingency planning means the business has a clear idea of how it will operate while the work is going on.
The other major item is the interior design plan, identifying the concept and appearance the client wants from the new office. Design experts can produce a range of ideas and show them in 3D to help the client envisage the look that will be achieved from the various alternatives. It is for the client to make the final decision. Once everything is agreed, all the furniture can be ordered.

An Office interior fit out involves project management, and given that the Group employs various tradesmen once one section is finished, the next workforce merely has to step in. Such coordinated effort has obvious advantages, and while the structure work is being completed the lead time for delivery or manufacture of furniture is being eaten up.

The final fit out is done once the building renovation work is completed and the utilities have been put in place.

A total revamp of a building may seem a daunting task, but once a client accepts that it is possible, then ideas of the best way to utilise floor space can begin. An Office interior fit out begins on the drawing board and ends with the handing over of a new office facility.

In most cases the staff will feel it has actually moved premises, though the journey to work will not have changed, and perhaps not even the front door. It can still feel like a completely new start, however.
