• International Furniture Fair Singapore draws more than 18,000 visitors

This year’s edition of the International Furniture Fair Singapore/ASEAN Furniture Show drew 18,836 visitors from 102 countries, according to official show results released this week.

The March 13-16 event, which also included The Décor Show and Hospitality 360 0, was held in about 600,000 square feet at the Singapore Expo. It featured 487 exhibitors from a record 39 countries. Last year’s show featured 418 exhibitors from 33 countries.

Show attendance was down from the 22,496 trade visitors who attended last year, according to official show results. However, the event drew strong positive reviews from visitors from around the world, including Europe and Asia.

Ernie Koh, chairman of IFFS Pte Ltd. and president of the Singapore Furniture Inds. Council, said that after the success of this year’s show, officials are working on an even better show for 2016.

“IFFS is well poised to assist international manufacturers enter the Asian market, as well as to allow local or regional firms to break into the global scene,” he said. “Companies are attracted to the unique blend of East meets West that is adaptable to either side of the spectrum, the ease with which business can be conducted here, and the well-established infrastructure that the island nation offers.”

The next IFFS show is planned for March 13-16, 2016. More information on the show and related events is online at www.iffs.com.sg.
