Living Room Corner Sofas are a Great Addition to Your Living Room

Rating: 1 votes, 5.00 average.
If you have limited space, have lots of company, or enjoy lounging around while you read, talk, or watch television, look into purchasing a living room corner sofa. They are becoming more fashionable all the time!

Unlike the sectional sofas of the old days, you will find a tremendous selection of styles, sizes, possible combinations, and fabrics to choose from. Depending on where and how you buy and the fabrics you choose, you can go from a truly inexpensive corner sofa to something pricey and luxurious.

Having a corner sofa in your living room is advantageous in several ways. Yes, it can get seating for lots of people into a compact, wall hugging space, and still leave you plenty of walk area and an uncluttered feeling. But it can also be used as a temporary bedroom, if you have a sofa bed in it...without looking like one.

If your room hasn't got enough floor space to have a large easy chair and ottoman, or a recliner, or a rocking chair, guess what? All of these things are available in your sectional pieces...with the advantage that they do not take up the floor space unless you are using that option!

But don't think that living room corner sofas are only good for small rooms. They can also be used in very large rooms to eke out a conversation grouping, define the usage of space, or to visually divide a room. For example:

1) Use a three seat section, a corner and a single section, backed into a corner. Then reverse it with a single section, a corner, and a three seat section facing the other one, and you have a wonderful, cozy conversation grouping. All you need to add is a coffee table and an area rug in the middle!

2) If you have an open dining room at one end of your living room, or a dining "L" you can separate the areas with your corner sofa, by backing it up to the dining table. Make sure you leave plenty of walking space behind a the sofa...with room to back a chair up and not hit it!

It is a good idea to avoid corner sectional sofas that are permanently connected. Better to have loose sections that can easily be moved, fit through doorways, and can be brought around corners for easy delivery. And think carefully about how you want to use the sofa.

If more than one person will be watching television at a time, do they both prefer to lay down? If so, you need two long sections, or one three-seater and a lounge section on the other side.

Do you always like to have a beverage at your side? A small table section with glass holders should figure into your plan. If you prefer to sit up, but want your legs elevated, the pop up foot rest is what you need. All of this is available in living room corner sofas!

A few things need to be remembered. You get what you pay for, so it is wise to buy the best quality that you can afford. It will last longer. If you have kids and pets, sturdy build and tough fabrics are a must! And don't forget that what appears small and compact in a large, high-ceilinged showroom, can be massive looking in your living room. Measure your space before you order your corner sofa!
