What is interesting is that there are some pretty neat accessories to accompany your sink that you may not have been aware of, with no installations required. These items can make cooking and cleaning easier, adds an additional aide, or simply makes your kitchen surface tidier as you are busy at work with the family dinner.

Racks

There are compartments for you to store household kitchen items in along the wall of your sink, from utensils, spatulas, sponges, soap, and cloths. This is an ideal use for multitasking as well as to save space on your kitchen countertop. If you like to keep your kitchen neat, this is an interesting purchase to consider. If the walls around the sinks aren’t being used for anything else, why not take advantage?

The downside to racks though, is for more space that is occupied for the aforementioned items, the less space that is provided for dinnerware, large pots and pans. If you considering putting away these racks to make room for bigger items in the sink, it may require more effort than what you thought would be less. Carefully consider the times when these racks would be appropriate and when they wouldn’t.

Bottom Racks

Not to be confused with the rack that has been previously mentioned, this rack is placed inside the sink’s bowl and serves as a layer in between your hands and your sink’s wet, dirty base. You can place items like food and dinnerware on the rack, just like a grill, and it will have a convenient place to dry.

Many racks, however are custom built to fit precisely into the sink that it is designed for, so if you don’t have a sink that goes well with these bottom racks, keep this in mind the next time you need to buy porcelain kitchen sinks. Buying accessories along with your new sink will ensure that they perfectly fit or match. If your sink is a farmhouse sink, then its basic size and shape may be compatible with more add-ons.

Rinsing Baskets

Baskets and colanders can also be designed to hang right over your sink. These are hands-free alternatives to regular baskets that you might be used to, so if you are preparing food or making a recipe that requires several different tasks at once, consider a basket that you can put berries or diced veggies inside.

Cutting Boards

Cutting boards are ideal for peeling and dicing foods, but did you also know that there are boards that can be placed right over your sink? You can use one of these boards to reduce space in your kitchen as well as increase productivity. Not to mention, if you need to water your food after cutting, your faucet will be right there to be used! You can cut as well as wash your fruit at the same time if you prefer. You can buy porcelain kitchen sinks or other sinks to go well with these cutting boards.

These are all handy and hands-free supplies to consider for your kitchen to make your life easier. Your sink is the most used appliance in your entire kitchen, so consider what options you have when thinking about maximizing the space and use around it.
