10 Minute Cleaning Tips With Amazing Results

Let's be honest almost nobody loves cleaning the house. You can spend your time much more enjoyable like going to the park, to a concert or spending a couple of relaxing hours with your family and friends. Unfortunately, everybody has to perform their cleaning duties. To speed up the process and assure that you have enough of free time, look at this list of fast and easy tips to tidy your home.

Clean with what you have in the Kitchen


Why wasting time and money on expensive cleaning supplies when you can use the things you already brought from the store. A big plus is that most of those things are easy to use and you can clean many surfaces at the same time.

Lemon juice

If you have a spear lemon or two in your fridge here is what you can do:

  • Cut a lemon in half and rub the kitchen counters with it than clean them with a damp cloth. Lemons have an antibacterial effect, and you can clean greasy stains with them.
  • You can clean the inside of the oven with lemon juice to remove the leftover food and oil stains.
  • Pour lemon juice in the toilet and wait a couple of minutes before cleaning it. It will disinfect and leave a fresh smell.


Baking soda

Baking soda is present in almost every kitchen, but you can use it for so much more than baking cakes.

  • Pour baking soda on carpets, rugs and furniture. Leave it for 20 minutes, you can use the time for cleaning the kitchen with the lemon juice. After the time is done, vacuum it. Baking soda can absorb unpleasant smells and unwanted moist from any surface.
  • Do you have silver jewellery that needs to be cleaned? Boil them in hot water and 2 tablespoons of baking soda. They will be as good as new.
  • Unclog your drains using one cup of baking soda mixed with one cup of vinegar. This solution has high acidity levels and will clean every pipe in the house. You can use it for the toilet as well as the shower drain.


Vinegar

Living in a humid city? Visiting a relative during the rain season? Spending the night in London for a conference? In each of these situations, there is one common thing - somewhere in the bathroom or in the corner of your room, there will be mould. And you don't have to be a qualified home cleaner to get rid of it. Just use vinegar!

  • Pour vinegar on the tiles in the bathroom and the bathtub. Leave it for 15 minutes and rinse with water. The acid component in the vinegar will kill every fungi and bacteria.
  • If you have black spots in the corners of the rooms, put vinegar on a cotton cloth and rub them. This will cleanse them and prevent the growth and spread of mildew.
  • Do your taps get white spots from the calcium in the water? Polish them with vinegar, and they will resume their former shine.


Cleaning with Unusual methods

When it comes to fast cleaning you have to think outside of the box and be inventive. Everything can be used as a cleaning utensil if you have the right mindset.

For All pet lovers

If you have pets, the trusty tape is your best friend:

  • Use tape to remove pet hairs from the upholstery and carpet. You can also try this method with clothes and curtains.
  • If you don't have tape or it is not wide enough you can use rubber gloves. Put them on and rub the upholstery, immediately the fibres will stick to the rubber surface.

For a Crystal View

We haven't forgotten about the windows.

  • Coffee filters are soft, they don't leave stains and are perfect for cleaning windows. If you don’t have a window cleaner at home, and you are short on time, simply use dishwashing soap and warm water. Use the coffee filters both as cleaning sponge and a polish cloth.
  • A clever trick is to always clean your windows when outside is cloudy. The reason is so the sunshine won't irritate your eye and you will be able to see if there are any smudges or leftover stains. Our advice is, if the weather is good and sunny, go and have a well-deserved rest!
