As we all know, history tends to repeat itself. Not only in current events, but in trends and styles as well. Take the “skinny” tie and tie bar as examples. Once prominent accessories in the 50′s, they are now popular again in 2010. The same can be said for upholstered furniture. Once popular trends have risen back up and created not only beautiful furniture, but evoked a style category of their own, Mid Century Modern . Just because these styles are inspired by a historical time, do not feel for a minute that these are grandma’s sofas. Modern flair as well as new textured and colored fabrics have given rise to the most popular style of furniture today.
Inspired by legendary designers such as Florence Knoll & James Eames, the 50’s are staged to reshape how we think of furniture.
