Dry Creek Mill LLC is a small family owned business. We specialize in handcrafted, high quality, and unique log furniture. We are located in the heart of the U.S. We started this venture after building and furnishing our beautiful log home. You'll find that we operate a little differently than most log furniture companies. Here's why:

We perform every part of the building process ourselves. This distinguishes us from larger manufacturers. We find and harvest all of our wood in the surrounding area. We design, build, and finish every piece one at a time to our customers' specifications. In most cases, every step of the process is performed by the same set of hands. This allows us to keep costs down and offer our products to our customers at an honest value.

While many larger log furniture companies are using milled logs to save time, both of our de-barking methods are performed completely by hand. We offer two different types of peeling methods for our logs. We perform a drawknife peel that is used in old-fashioned log furniture. This removes all of the bark and gives a beautiful smooth look, with drawknife markings. We also use a procedure that washes off the bark, leaving behind traces of inner bark, beautiful worm markings, and more knots for the most natural look possible.

The Dry Creek Mill family will never sacrifice the quality or creativity of our products in order to mass-produce or increase our size of business. You can trust that when we use the term “unique,” we actually mean it.

Every Piece is Unique. In fact, we often build furnishings that are made from rare shapes and sizes of wood. Knowing that we may never be able to closely match these products' styles, they are classified as Exclusive Items and are never recreated again.

We encourage special orders and custom creations. We want the product to look perfect for whatever setting you choose for it. We will even send pictures throughout the building process so that the customer may see the progress and offer any suggestions.

About Red Cedar:

Red Cedar is one of the strongest, most durable species of wood and has a high natural resistance to decay. Not to mention, its aromatic and colorful nature. Eastern red cedar, unlike northern or western white cedar, has aromatic oils that give off an incredible scent and protect the wood from pests. It is excellent wood to work with because of its hardness and small shrinkage rating. It has some of the same exterior markings and abnormalities as Aspen but is much more durable and reliable. Cedar offers a wide variety of looks depending upon which tree and which part of the tree is taken.
