RON and Jean shanor live in Cody, Wyoming, the heart of the Western Design Movement. Being only 58 miles east of Yellowstone Park, the natural beauty of their surroundings offers a wellspring of inspiration which is reflected in their work. Each piece of furniture is unique, carefully handcrafted using Lodgepole, Aspen and Burl woods.
Ron spends part of his summer selecting and gathering just the right pieces of wood for projects that will be built during the winter.
"We'll take potatoes and burgers in foil up to the mountains and spend the whole day looking for treasures." Jean says.
"Part of what we do is to try to absorb the smell of the mountains, the blue blue sky, the huge clear vistas, and impart that feeling into our artwork."
