Our Business Started Out Of Our Home With Bill Building In Our Basement And Due To Popular Demand, We Needed A Wood Shop! -Bonnie Rhue Bill and his wife, Bonnie, started building wholesale furniture in their basement over 30 years ago. The original name of the business was B & B Design. A growing family necessitated that Bill move the wood shop from their home to another location. In 1985, Bill and Bonnie purchased their current manufacturing facility near Circle and Platte. The following year, the first retail store, Wall Units, Etc, was opened near Chelton and Platte. By 1988, the space was quickly outgrown, and the retail operation was moved to Academy and Union. Shortly after that, a second store, called The Bookcase Place, was opened next door. The two spaces were then combined and the retail store was renamed The Oak Place. Due to the growing popularity of other hardwoods, like knotty Alder, Cherry, Hickory, Walnut and Maple, the name of the retail store was recently changed to The Not Just Oak Place.

Brianna was 14 and Brittany was 11. The girls are now all grown up and have successful careers. Brianna is an optometrist in South Florida, and Brittany is a second-grade teacher in Castle Rock.
