Extra options for a standard-size bathtub

We plan to remodel our small bathroom this year.

Try as we might, the new bathtub will have to stay at the 5-foot size.

I was hoping to fit a larger tub, but since this is not the case, can you please suggest some extra options we can look for in a standard size tub?

Since 5 feet is a very common bath tub length, innovative manufacturers wanted to take care of this big market and do offer extra features for small bath tubs.

Some of my favorite new features available for standard size tubs include:

    - Comfort Depth overflow. This type of bath has a thin rectangle shape overflow drain in place of the circle shape overflow. This allows for a higher water level in the tub.

    - Heated tub walls. Not only does this help keep the soaking water warm, it feels good on your back.

    - Bubble massage. For smaller tubs, an air bath bubble massage feature is a great option. It's quiet and relaxing, with less splashing than a pump system.

Bottom line: Even with bathtubs, good things do come in small packages.
